Birth.
Holding space for a woman to birth in confidently and safely is empowering and beautiful. It’s one of the reasons I love being a doula; I believe in you.
The birthing journey may hold many unknown variables, but we look for the things you can control - and you are at the centre of it all.
Wherever you are, whatever your birth plan, however you move to the flow of this magical force, the energy in which you are held should remain comforting, safe and sacred.
Becoming part of your support circle.
Beautiful birthing happens when there is trust and connection. You need to make sure I’m going to be the best person for the role and that usually happens over a cup of tea and cake (not essential but highly encouraged!). Having a team of support around you during childbirth is an invaluable gift.
Birth.
I will be at your side as soon as you need me, and for as long as you need me.
I will hold you in a safe and supportive space of love and reassurance, and remind you to relax to the knowing that your body is capable and strong.
A protector of oxytocin, I will support and guard every step of the way for both you and your baby.
Antenatal visits.
I offer at least three antenatal visits to discuss all manner of wishes, ideas, experiences and dreams. From stocking up your postpartum pantry to massage techniques during labour, these meetings offer a deeper connection and allow for insightful conversations around your birth plan.
Immediately after birth.
I will remain with you after your baby is born and support you for as long as is required.
Once you are all happy and settled comfortably, I will leave you to enjoy your precious family time together.
On Call.
I will be on call for you from week 38 of your pregnancy until you give birth.
This means that in that time, you can contact me 24 hours a day 7 days a week until the birth of your baby.
Postpartum visits.
I am there to provide practical and emotional support, including a debrief of your birth and support with feeding your baby.
I will visit as you need me.
