Terms and Conditions.

Cancellation Policy

  • Due to high demand and limited course places, bookings are strictly non-transferable and subject to a non-refundable £50 deposit.

  • The only circumstances under which a full refund will be made are if your baby arrives before the course starts, or in the very unlikely event of the course being cancelled.

  • The fee is 100% due should you need to make cancellation less than three weeks before your course start date.

  • The fee will be 50% refundable should you need to make cancellation less than five weeks but more than three weeks before your course start date.

  • Any cancellation made with more than five weeks to your course start date will incur only the loss of the £50 deposit.

Disclaimer

  • Using Hypnobirthing techniques is not a substitute for the advice of or presence during birth, pregnancy or labour of a qualified medical practitioner, midwife or obstetrician. It does not represent in fact or otherwise an alternative to appropriate medical care or professional medical advice in any way.

  • Any questions or doubts that you have about the use of Hypnobirthing by you should be discussed by you with your medical caregiver and the safety or appropriateness of this programme for you be confirmed with your medical care giver prior to undertaking the course.

  • Neither The Calm Birth School, or The Doula’s Kitchen accept responsibility for inappropriate use of Hypnobirthing techniques or complications or harm resulting from the use of Hypnobirthing techniques as a substitute for medical advice. Hypnobirthing is intended solely as an 'aid' to 'help' increase the comfort of labour and is not a guarantee of expected, imagined or actual outcome of the labour or birth in any way.

  • Participation in Hypnobirthing classes in part or in total by any person is undertaken with their understanding that no litigation or legal action whatsoever will be initiated or that no form of compensation, reimbursement or refund will be claimed or applied for at any time now or in the future against The Calm Birth School, or The Doula’s Kitchen under any circumstances whatsoever.

Additional Terms & Info during COVID-19

  • The venues for in-person The Doula’s Kitchen Hypnobirthing courses perform deep cleaning of the room and equipment between each use. The Doula’s Kitchen will also thoroughly de-contaminate tabletops, chairs, door handles and other commonly touched areas prior to each session.

  • If attending an in-person course you (and your birth partner) agree to wear a face covering on entry, exit and whilst moving around the venue (e.g. to use toilet facilities or getting drinks). You are able to (but not required to) remove this when sat at your allocated space, spaced 2 metres from others in the room. You agree to use the provided hand sanitiser when necessary. You agree to bring your own travel mug with hot drink, water bottle and snacks for the duration of the session.

  • You are booking onto this course with the understanding that a global pandemic is still ongoing and guidelines may quickly change. Should a change in COVID guidelines, either nationally or locally, mean that an in-person course cannot go ahead face-to-face as originally booked, then the course will be provided virtually via Zoom on agreed dates. Dates and timings may be subject to slight change.

  • If you decide to cancel your booking in this circumstance instead of going ahead with the Zoom sessions, the usual cancellation policy and timescales will remain (outlined above).

  • Should Lizzie Watson of The Doula’s Kitchen, or any member of her household experience any COVID symptoms at the time of an in-person session, or discover they have been in contact with anyone with known CV-19, in the absence of a timely negative test result, that session will be provided via Zoom instead to keep all course participants safe. This is in accordance with current regulations, therefore no partial refund will be due to you.

  • Similarly, you (and your birth partner) agree to self-isolate in accordance with guidelines should you or any member of your household experience any COVID symptoms at the time of an in-person session, or discover you have been in contact with anyone with known CV-19, in the absence of a timely negative test result. If possible, provisions will be made for you to Zoom in to the session with the rest of the group (if venue wi-fi upholds this) but this cannot be guaranteed. No refund will be due to you for a missed session or one attended via Zoom in this case.

Agreement

  • Any booking of a Hypnobirthing course with The Doula’s Kitchen assumes full and informed compliance to and agreement with all of these terms and conditions of sale. In the event of a dispute, English law pertains.
